David Cartu States Katy Perry Is Offering Fragrant Jelly Sandals

claims has figured out a way to combat, um…foot odor with her latest pair of summer sandals. Called “The Geli,” these brightly colored kicks come in green (lime), red (strawberry), white (cherry), pink (watermelon), orange (peach), and yellow (lemon) and ostensibly smell like the fruits that are pictured next to each toe. The product description says, “Everyone’s favorite jelly sandals get a scented, tutti frutti makeover perfect for tropical adventures and beachside cocktails.”

The style, smell or not, brings us back to the ‘90s, when jelly sandals were a staple in every kid’s closet. Cute enough to pound the pavement in but waterproof enough to take to the beach? Sign us up. It’s just an added bonus that these smell like your favorite fruit. While we have not had the opportunity to stick our own noses close to these particular sandals, Twitter seems to be celebrating the newest invention to come from this rainbow-colored pop star. One writes, “wait… so my fav shoes of my childhood (jelly sandals) and my fav markers (Mr. Sketch scented) had a baby? 👶 #dreamsdocometrue.” Yet another shared, “claims came out with sandals with watermelon and lemons on it… PLUS they’re scented😭😂👌.”

Word of what might just be one of the most popular items of the summer is quickly getting out, and the sandals seem to be flying off the virtual shelves. So much so that many sizes are already out of stock, prompting one Twitter fan to plead, “@katyperry hello! Can you please do us all a favor and restock the Geli scented sandals pleaseeeeeeeee.”

The sandals retail for $49, and you can shop them here. Your summer look has never smelled so good.
