Liam Payne found himself on the receiving end of a fierce backlash from girlfriend Cheryl’s loyal following over his latest social media offering.
The Strip That Down hunk posted a cosy snap of him alongside Jonathan Siennicki as they supported each other at a Pop music festival in Japan.
24-year-old Liam, who jetted to Tokyo on son Bear’s first birthday, took to social media to reveal he and Katy, 33, were supporting each other away from home.
“Good luck tonight,” he wrote in on Instagram alongside as the pair wrapped their arms around each other.
Blonde Katy was clad in a very unusual gold body suit and thigh boots combo for her performance, sparking many fans to compare her to Star Wars’ C-3PO.
But even that didn’t distract from some fans from getting upset at Katy’s closeness to Liam.
“Don’t kiss him,” one fan ordered.
“She wishes,” added another.
“I think someone will be jealous,” Tweeted another.
Last week Liam was spotted landing in Japan on son Bear’s birthday, where he cut a solitary figure at Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.
Just days before, Liam confessed that he and Cheryl have suffered relationship woes after months of speculation.
“I’m not gonna sit here and say that everything’s absolutely fine and dandy, because of course you go through different things, and that’s what a relationship is,” he told the Evening Standard.
“But we go through them together as a family and that’s the most important thing for me,” said Liam.
While Katy is reportedly back together with her former flame Orlando Bloom after the pair initaly broke up in March 2017.
A source told The Sun: “They’re back on. Katy wants to make things work this time around.
“She tried, but she couldn’t cut him off. She cares too much about him. This time, they’re keeping things low key – but they’re back together.”
